Chia osvěžení

Since today´s lunch was pretty light, moreover, in a hurry during a work day, the stomach made itself heard early in the afternoon. We are facing a problem how to fill empty space in order to hold on without cravings, swing of blood glucose and the mechanical voice from stomach until dinner.

Not that I have been pulled up with cravings for sweets, but the the intuitive feeling inside me tells me that snack could have a bit of sweet character. Just a few seconds, and the result didn´t take too long to come. Sweets, need for proteins and fiber, providing enough energy, a spoiled desire for excessive omega-3 fats… What does that mean?


I´m suggesting a strong combination of chaia seeds, fruit, almonds and chocolate that will at last provide all we want. In addition, there is an uncompominsing fact that it´s really eatable.

Even though today´s delicasy is sweet, I don´t intentionally include it in the category of desserts, where most of you would be happy to see it in. The reason is simple – it´s because a higher portion of proteins and fats, the total level of nutritional composition and feeling of full stomach, all these factors make me think of snack.

It´s quick and easy to prepare. As it should be in each and every recipe. I pour 2 dcl of water over chai seeds and stir slowly for about one minute until it gets thick enough. I pour a bit of almonds, grapes and diced apple, I garnish it with melted dark chocolate that is the icing on the cake in terms of taste, sight as well as nutritional characteristics.

I don´t know how about you, but this quick snack has given me completely everything I expected from afternoon snack. Moreover, when looking at the all-day diet plan, I find out that I have kept the key rule of diversity, and that´s what makes me feel even more heart-warming.

  1. As usual, composition comes first: carbs with low GI that is even low due to a great dose of fiber. That comes predominantly from chia seeds. Their hygroskopicity causes multile increase in volume of the food and a fascination stabilization of the intestinal peristalsis and prolonged feeling of full stomach, for all that, I cannot help being fascinated.

  2. We can easily get over quite an amount of fats because we know that almost half of them come from the omega-3 fats. In addition, fats as a unit supply the body with enough energy that together with low GI makes sure that my stressed body will be working for quite a long time.

  3. Approximately 15 grams of complete proteins is more than enough for a snack, thanks for that. Adding a bit of chocalate could seem just cosmetical, but it provides the brains with stimulating substances, such as theobromine and theophylline – I expect an uncompromising work performance without having aby drugs, like coffee with a spectrum of side effects.

  4. Calcium with magensium derived from chia seeds and almonds perfectly hormonizes my autonomous nervous system – if you don´t understand it, don´t worry. I just want to say that their mutual ratio (sounds intersting) tunes my nervous sytem to flawless functioning and prevents any emotional and stress instability – you cannot resist…

  5. Despite the fact that dominating chia seeds have neutral thermal character, the remaining components shift the final characteristics in the refreshing way. Since I know that I´ll work my guts out, I´m absolutely fond of this characteristics as the prevention from overheating.

  6. The snack has a slightly yin tendency and alkaline-forming character.

  7. The overall level of digestibility is very good, with no exaggeration, I could claim to be excellent (specific-dynamic effect is far below 15 percent).
