Warming smoothie with cinamon and ginger

It may not be necessarily true for a cold smoothie to cause the state of undesirable chilliness when consuming it on cold days. Through clever combination of suitable ingredients we can support metabolic pathways that can affect inner thermoregulation as well. Why not to take advantage?

The specificity of today´s recipe includes besides other things delicious taste and sufficient amount of antioxidants and some other nutrients. And these are paramaters we don´t have to be ashamed of.


First we take apples, we remove the cores and cut them into a bigger pieces. We pour them into a juicer that will give us fresh juice in a couple of seconds. Then we take a pear, get rig of its core, cut it into pieces and pour it into a mixing jug. We add there ground ginger, cinamon and "treasure of Aztec runners" in a form of chia seeds. We pour the mixture with apple juice and mix all ingredients properly.

And now we can enjoy this magic combination of sweet fruit together with heady scent of cinamon and light hot ginger.

Vlastnosti receptu

  1. Nutrition characteristic of the coctail is interesting. Passing over the prevailing amount of saccharides with the majority of the simple forms, we´ll be definitely impressed by sufficient amount of fibre and by the presence of both fats and proteins. We speak here about a very low level of these latter, they´re definitely not insignificant, though.

  2. The total amount of energy is relatively low. In this respect, I´d speak about low calorie recipe, those trying lose weight will be interested as well.

  3. The value of the GI of the whole dish will range in low levels. Even here everything is ok.

  4. To speak about the level of digestibility in coctails is in most cases quite useless. They tend to be at a very good level. The exception is when we purposely add some amount of proteins.

  5. Thermal effect is evident from the title itself. Used spices have the ability to shift this characteristics significantly in the intended direction.

  6. Acid base balance will be slightly acidifying. Nothing worth criticism.

  7. When speaking about when this smoothie is suitable to have – I wouldn´t make it complicated and I´d have this coctail as a possible sweet snack that will warm the body and soul.
